Description:Pretty, lustrous and translucent, iron-rich calcite scalenohedrons cover the mounded matrix on this excellent specimen from recent Chinese finds. The crystals have highly modified, blunt trigonal terminations and look like a field of fat porcupine quills. A bit of periphery wear is noted on one side, but is certainly only a modest detraction. Showy 360-degree material and this style is uncommon presently.
