Description:Matrix Herkimer quartz "diamond" specimens are rare because the crystals commonly break off matrix during collecting, as the matrix is usually very hard. This aesthetic and excellent combination matrix specimen features a gorgeous, 1.7 cm, doubly terminated 'diamond' jauntily set in a vug. Additional vugs are lined with lustrous, tan dolomite rhombs. The sculptural quality of this uncommon matrix combination piece and the placement of the isolated, gem-like Herkimer make this a very fine, rare, highly representative specimen.
