Description:Tunellite is a very rare hydrated borate, first discovered at the famous U.S. Borax Mine in 1961. This exceptional single crystal from the Type Locality is a pristine, doubly terminated floater thumbnail. The sharp form, pearlescent lustre and translucence of the layered crystal are top-class for the species. Who says, that evaporite minerals can't look great? Older material from the Al Ordway Collection. Hard to value today as such material is quite rare on the market now
