Description:Hematite on topaz is a very rare combination from Topaz Mountain. The gemmy, sharply terminated, sherry-colored topaz crystal is nearly completely covered with scintillating metallic hematite. The rhyolite matrix is a nice compliment to this rare and fine thumbnail from the Al Ordway # 268 Collection. This may be a specimen in stages of replacement (a pseudomorph), or just a thick coatign atop the topaz. either way - unusual!
