Description:An extremely rare specimen of two gem phlogopite mica crystals from the famous ruby deposits at Jegdalek. The glassy and lustrous crystals are cognac-colored and reach 1.4 cm. They are nicely set in marble matrix, which includes a sprinkling of rare, iridescent pyrite crystals. The crystals have a striking, variable fluorescence - bright orange in long wave and cream-yellow in short wave! Very hard to get material. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock. Herb valued this piece at $500, ten or more years ago. Value today??
