Description:A sharp, 5.5 cm, translucent, lustrous, hexagonal, honey-brown calcite crystal is aesthetically perched on the mounded matrix of quartz covered with smaller calcites on very showy and excellent specimen from the limited find at the Shangbao Mine of China. The color, form and lustre of these crystals is very noteworthy. Periphery wear is noted on one side and back of the piece, but is only a modest detraction, as they are out of sight in the preferred display views. The base has been sawed to enhance the considerable display quality. Very highly representative of this classic form. Ex Schlichter Collection. Valued at $400-500.
