Description:A splendent, textbook, 2.4 x 2.1 x 2.1 cm, franklinite octahedron is jauntily set atop calcite matrix embedded with a multitude of smaller franklinites from the famous Sterling Hill Mine. The modified corners of the octo really add pazzazz to this choice crystal. A bit of bruising and one chipped corner are noted, but this remains a very highly representative and showy example of the species. Electric-orange fluorescence to the calcite. Ex George Elling Collection, an elite Franklin/Sterling Hill collector.
