Description:Gemmy and lustrous, cinnamon-brown grossular garnets with gorgeous flashes of gemmy yellow-orange fire in clusters or as isolated individuals richly and attractively cover the quartz crystal matrix on this excellent combination specimen from the Vesper Peak, Washington and the Robert Whitmore Collection. The beautiful garnets reach 1.0 cm and the 3.0 cm quartz crystal lined vug on the back is a very nifty accent. This skarn area was a noted locality for fine grossular during the 1970s. There are literally dozens of gemmy garnets on this old piece, which displays very well from two directions.
