Description:Butte chalcocite is a US classic and this is a very fine and aesthetic combination example. Two circular mounds of sharp, iridescent magenta chalcocite crystals to 5 mm are dramatically perched on a bed of glassy quartz points. Both sides display beautifully: one side with the striking single point (with a lightly bruised termination); and the other side with a forest of needles (the end of the large chalcocite ball is contacted, but with minimal bruising). Undoubtably older material. Classic and excellent combination material from the Robert Whitmore Collection # 189.
