Description:A showy and excellent plate from the historic Geevor Mine of Cornwall. Green coating of possible malachite coats platy chalcocite crystals, nicely set in a vug in quartz and massive chalcocite matrix. A rich, hefty for its size, copper ore specimen from this historic, rich mine that operated intermittently from the late 1700s to 1990! Malachite , or any other green copper mineral whatever it may be, would be unusual. Ex Wes Parker Collection.
