Description:The famous Berg Aukas Mine of Namibia has produced the world's finest descloizite specimens and this is an excellent example. Highly lustrous, sharp, jet-black, blocky and spearpoint-shaped crystals richly and attractively cover the matrix plate of much smaller brown descloizite crystals. The specimen is nearly pristine, having only a bit of periphery wear. This fine piece displays well from either side and is a highly representative example of the species and famous locality, which closed in 1978. Showy material from the Al Kidwell Collection.
