Description:The intense, beautiful blue color saturation of St. Anne's Mine topaz crystals is top-of-the-line and compares favorably with Brazilian pieces. This excellent, classic, gemmy crystal is transparent to translucent and has bright lustre. The very sharp chisel termination is textbook. Complete all-around on three sides: one face has a negative impression from another crystal; a bit of edgewear is noted on the termination, but is a modest detraction; and one end and a small, lower portion of the other face are contacted. Topaz crystals of this quality and color density are seldom available from this locale. Ex John Ydren Collection and obtained in 1965, according to his card. $30 was not cheap then. Valued at $950. 64 grams.
