Description:A rich and aesthetic nest of beautifully burnished, curved and curled, silver wires is dramatically perched on matrix, that is rich in acanthite. The various thicknesses of the wires are striking. The large wire is 1.7 cm long. This excellent thumbnail is from a recent find at the Hongda Mine of China. This piece bears strong resemblance to classic Kongsberg wire silvers and would be much more expensive, if from there. Valued at $250-350.
