Description:A really nifty, older combination specimen from the well-known Otjua pegmatites of Namibia. Bi-colored, pink and green, tourmaline crystals are aesthetically embedded and extend from a lustrous, frosted, translucent, doubly terminated, light smoky quartz crystal. Quartz is a relatively uncommon mineral from Otjua, which enhances the quality of this piece. The largest tourmaline is broken and healed, as it is bent. Very nearly pristine, a trivial bit of barely noticeable termination edgewear is noted on the smoky. Certainly not a detraction. This aesthetic piece looks like a rocket ship with green and pink flames coming out of the exhaust. Ex Jaime Bird Collection and dates from the 1970s or 80s, when the best quality pieces were coming out.
