Description:This historic copper mine was first worked in 1609. Good specimens from here are not often found on today's mineral market. This is a nearly pristine, slightly modified floater pyritohedron with mirror-bright, lightly iridescent faces and brassy color. Trivial edgewear is noted. Those are tension cracks on the crystal faces. Ex Jaime Bird Collection, with a 1977 date on his label. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON.
