Description:A superb 1970s Belgian classic. A 2.2 cm, lustrous, nearly transparent, pretty amber, complex calcite rhombohedron is jauntily set upright on an elongate shard of limestone matrix. The calcite is complete all-around and pristine and a smaller calcite on one end is a nifty accent. This old quarry closed in the late 1970s and is now the water supply for several cities. Collecting is forbidden. Ex Howard Belsky Collection. Howard started as a mineral dealer at age 13 in 1972, became a sophisticated dealer and died tragically at age 28 in 1987. His collection recently became available to us through his family. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!!
