Description:Except for the famous Lengenbach Quarry, dolomite is relatively rare for Wallis, Switzerland and is very rare from the Zermatt area. This showy and fine plate features glassy, transparent, smoky quartz crystals richly strewn on the matrix plate of sharp, snow-white, dolomite rhombs. Chlorite flecks coat both the smokies and dolomite rhombs as a nice accent. Very uncommon combination material from this noted locale. The base has been sawed to enhance the display quality.
