Description:Striking, radial starbursts of very glassy, chatoyant, wavellite and classic wavellite spheroids cover three sides of the sculptural, brecciated novaculite matrix on this striking and excellent specimen from a NEW 2010 find at Avant, Arkansas. This site has not really been producing this style of deeply colored large balls since the 1960s and before. The glassy, "rays" of exposed internal crystals are actually sea-green, but look purplish-blue in the photos. The "core", yellow suns are stunning. The large vug hosting mostly undamaged spheroids is classic. This is a fine example of this new find and the wavellite spheroids are large for the locale, up to 2.9 cm across.
