Description:Color-zoned, pretty purple, fluorite cubes are very aesthetically scattered on both sides of the sculptural CABINET crust on this old-time specimen from this famous Cave-in-Rock District of Southern Illinois. The faces of the lustrous, translucent crystals, to 2.1 cm, are either lightly frosted or have micro stepped-growth. The entire specimen is richly peppered and accented with sparkly, rubyjack sphalerite crystals. A bit of scattered edgewear is noted on some of the fluorite cubes, but is certainly a very modest detraction. This is a very highly representative, large older example of the combination species from this noted locale. This impressive piece displays well from several angles, as you can see. Modest purple fluorescence.
