Description:A great "old-time" orthoclase variety adularia specimen consisting of sharp, lusrous, translucent, colorless, twinned crystal. The bit of matrix is a nice accent. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only very modest periphery wear adjacent to the contacted base. A cleaved quartz crystals is located near the matrix and is cetainly not a detraction. This is a beautiful specimen for this very historic and well known region in Switzeland. Formerly in the British Museum (with a 1926 date) and Mullane Collections. The $2.00 price on the Museum label is from the Mullane's and dates to the 1950s to early 70s.
