Description:A lustrous, translucent, yellow-green, layered plate of cerussite is attached to sandstone matrix on this rare old-timer from Germany. This piece is from the ancient lead mines at Badenweiler, Black Forest, probably the Furstenfreude Mine. The etching on the lustrous face is striking. Both ends are contacted, but this remains a very rare example of the species from this historic locale. How often do you see cerussite attached to sandstone from ANY worldwide locality??? We cannot think of another. It is also, nicely, a beautiful piece and unusual lead mineral specimen. Ex Larry Krause Collection. Valued $750
