Description:A striking, 3-dimensional, fine specimen of splendent, mammilliary, black hematite of classic style for the old English locales from the 1800s. But it is from Morocco. Besides being smaller than the old English specimens, it is more lustrous than most of the English hematites. The "nest" of small hematite "eggs" at the top of the piece is dramatic. It looks like a bowl of caviar. Ex. John Sobolewski Collection.
