Description:An old-time and uncommon pyromorphite specimen from the famous Broken Hill Mine of Zambia. This rich and showy specimen is festooned with striking, lustrous, translucent, apple-green pyromorphite prisms to 5 mm on a bedded gossan matrix. Scattered, colorless, rare, parahopeite crystals are a super accent and complement. Ex Wes Parker Collection. Broken Hill was discovered in 1902 and the first ore was mined in 1906. This superb piece probably dates to the open pit mining period before WWII. Seldom available in this quality and color.
