Description:A superb, gem, floater, chrysoberyl thumbnail from Brazil. The sharp, glassy, yellow-green crystals are pristine. The classic, large, sixling twin crystal perched on the smaller crystal stalk has a contact on one side, but no damage, per se. This competition-quality thumbnail is from the unique finds made by Allan Caplan in Brazil from 1938 to 1941. NO more of this quality have been recovered since. Good chrysoberyl twins with this gemmy quality are extemely rare and are very valuable, especially thumbnails, as very few were kept. They are the epitome of chrysoberyls and as a thumbnail, top-of-the-line. Ex Irv Brown Thumbnail Collection. Irv valued this piece at $950 five years ago. Few are coming up for sale these days, it is of a high calibre, and i think this quite realistic in valuation
