Description:A classic and beautiful CABINET calcite specimen from Tsumeb. Glassy, transparent, calcite rhombs are aesthetically festooned on all sides of the mounded matrix. The striking stepped-growth rhombs reach 3.3 cm on the diagonal. Some rhombs have rare modified corners. Bright green duftite is a super accent and is seen on the matrix and included in calcite rhombs. Complete all-around and essentially pristine. I note only one, trivial bit of edgewear, on only one crystal. Amazing, for such dense coverage of a soft mineral! Ex Gary Hansen Collection and dates to the 1970s or latest, 1982, when South West Africa became Namibia. Very fairly valued at $900-1200. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!
