Description:A fantastic, LARGE CABINET, calcite specimen from the famous and now-closed Tsumeb Mine. The glassy, translucent, calcite rhombs have striking, preferential, hematite coating and dramatic, stepped-growth or a terrace-like pattern, from top to bottom. Even one side has very pronounced stepped-growth. Very seldom will you see a large Tsumeb calcite with with this very impressive geometry. Ex Willy Israel Collection and purchased from Clive Queit in 1978. A classic, large Tsumeb calcite. 6.8 pounds or 3.1 kilos. It is nearly pristine and also nearly a floater, meaning it is almost complete all around. It is IMPRESSIVE in display. Formerly offered at $2000 and then in our $999 auctions.
