Description:This rare, old-time, doubly terminated, floater, amethyst cluster is from the Kola Peninsula of Russia. The glassy, translucent crystal has pleasing variable shades of purple and the backside is prefentially coated with muscovite microcrystals for great effect. A bit of scattered termination and side wear is noted, but given the context of this remarkable old and rare piece, the overall impact is very modest. Comes with an old faded label (now split into 4 pieces) in English. We believe this unique for the locality piece dates to the Czarist era and is over 100 years old. Ex Richard Hauck Quartz Collection.
