  • Size Description:Small Cabinet

Description:A dramatic 4.2 cm wide vug is filled with splendent, striated, jet-black manganite prisms and is framed and accented by contrasting massive barite and finely crystallized manganite. This historic, old-timer is NOT just a "black rock" by any means. It displays very dramatically and impressively. The crystals reach 1.5 cm. These old pieces came out in about 1886-1888 (per Peter Bancroft's book GEM & CRYSTAL TREASURES). This piece is solid, crystallized manganite ALL AROUND. Sharp crystals, good size, and high lustre make this an excellent and affordable small cabinet. Comes with a faded old label, and again this is certainly the classic 1880s material. Superb old collector classic!
