Description:The recent discovery of these highly etched but completely terminated, floater, spessartine garnets created quite a splash, and you can see why. The sculptural aesthetics, lustre and clarity are superb, which are complemented by the lovely deep cherry-red color. It is safe to say these have become very sought-after, and this is an excellent example of this recent find. It is even better in person. The stepped patterns on this particular piece are amazing, just like a cherry-red, Mayan pyramid! The backlit photos really highlight the beautiful wine-red color saturation and gemmyness. This fine piece is nicely accented by a few small magnesite crystals attached to the back. An excellent quality spessartine from this find. 7 grams.
