Emerald is classified as a Type-3 gemstone which means that inclusions in the stones are acceptable in the trade for collectors and dealers. With that said, it is very difficult to find a "clean" Emerald that is over a carat. Thist stone is has a traditional "Emerald" cut and is what I would call gem quality, but it obviously has some inclusions. It's by no means opaque. It has a soft green color that is often seen from the locale. Keep in mind that Emeralds cannot be held to the same clarity standard that most stones are held to. The greatest aspect of this stone is the fact that it comes from the northern area of Brazil in Bahia, which is known for producing some great color Emeralds, but not often gem quality Emeralds. This is a beautiful little gem from this lesser known locality for the material. It's a unique locality stone for any collector.
