Item Description
Tourmaline is beloved by collectors for its wide range of vivid colors. One color that is considered rare for Tourmaline from any locality is yellow. Recently in Mozambique there was a find of interestingly colored Tourmaline. The combination of greens with rich warm hues seen in these gems makes these stones very enticing for collectors. This particular gem is a beautiful, nearly eye clean, gem with a lovely greenish-hue that shows flashes of golden-orange when rotated in the light. The stone was most likely faceted at an angle that allowed the pleochroism to show multiple colors face up, which is not commonly seen in Tourmalines. This isn't what I would call a traditional bi-color Tourmaline, but rather a stone that shows more than one color face up. It has a traditional "Oval Brilliant" cut. It seems that these stones have quickly dried up from the market, and they are retailing for fairly high numbers with some dealers, so don't miss out on this interesting Tourmaline of an uncommon color.
