Item Description

Please note, this stone is listed as an Amblygonite, but it quite possibly could be Montebrasite, as it turns out a good percentage of the old Amblygonites are actually Montebrasite after analysis. It turns out that Amblygonite is actually the rare mineral between the two. With that said, Amblygonite is a relatively rare stone and is only found from a few localities in top gem material. Stone that approach five carats are highly sought after by collectors, and deeply appreciated by those who have experience with rare gems. This particular stone has a light greenish yellow color, and a "Round Brilliant" cut. With the naked eye, I can only see a few tiny inclusions in this gem, which is impressive for the material, even in smaller gems. Amblygonite is too soft and brittle for jewelry, but these are not very common today in ANY size. This would make a great addition to any rare stone collection.
