Spinel is one of those gems that comes in a great range of colors. Most people are familiar with the Ruby Spinels, but a large percentage of Spinels out there are not red. This is a beautiful silvery colored Spinel with a slight blue overtone from the Sri Lankan gem gravels. It is an attractive stone with an almost metallic appearance, which is often seen in Spinels. The stone is VVS in clarity and has a traditional "Oval" cut. This is a fairly good quality Spinel with an interesting color. The high retail price on this gem is $250.00 per carat. Keep in mind that there are only a few places in the world that produce gem quality Spinels, and most of them are becoming harder to obtain due to political upheaval, sanctions and their ever increasing popularity.
