This is a great collector's stone. How often do you see Cobaltoan Calcite available for sale in today's market? This stone is a fantastic, richly colored, rare, vivid purplish-pink color, "Round" cut gemstone. Cobaltoan Calcite is rarely seen in faceted stones, and the color on this stone is very good for this material. The rarity is multiplied by the fact that the rough is extremely difficult to find these days, not to mention that the area which produced this material is now closed and there is almost no other source for these crystals in the world outsid of Morocco and the Congo. The stone is quite gemmy, and it is difficult to find this material in clean stones, so inclusions are accepted by most collectors and dealers. This stone is much better in terms of clarity than most we've seen. Despite my best efforts, I cannot get the photos to look as good as the stone appears in person. An attractive and extremely rare gemstone.
