Item Description

Here we have a beautiful NATURAL (unheated) unusually colored Sapphire from one of the most productive localities for the material in North America. I can best describe the color as a coppery-golden with a hints of pink or yellow depending upon the light under which its viewed. It does show different color in sunlight verses incandescent lighting and halogen lighting. This fine little sparkler is only very very slightly included with a "Round Brilliant" cut. A nice reference gem for this classic U.S. Sapphire locality. It's especially nice since it's not heated or treated in any way which is not terribly common in Sapphires.  PLEASE NOTE:  We had this stone listed as coming from "Sweetwater Creek" originally, which was the name given to us by the individual who found the piece of rough from which this stone was cut.  We were told that "Sweetwater Creek" is a small offshoot of Rock Creek, but may not be an actual locality that you will find on any map, and could be a way for the person who is panning this rough to keep their locality secret.
