Item Description

Dense jackstraw coverage of flattened dolomite rhombs have been replaced with straw-yellow cadmium-rich smithsonite on this impressive, rich and sculptural plate from this famous locale. Nearly pristine. Trivial crystal bruising and periphery wear reveals the bone-white dolomite or smithsonite not fully cadmian, beneath the smithsonite. This is an aesthetic and very fine example from the Rush Creek District. Older material collected in the 1960s or 70s. Valued at $300-500.
