A classic and showy Italian Alpine combination from the famous Ala Valley. Gemmy cherry-red to orange-red modified dodecahedral grossular garnet crystals, variety hessonite, are aesthetically scattered with a few gemmy, terminated pastel-green diopside crystals in a rich field of "books" of ripidolite, an uncommon varietal of clinochlore. The stunning large hessonite is 7 mm and the large diopside crystal is 8 mm. Classic and excellent combination material from this noted locale from an East Coast collection.
