A RARE and beautiful green rounded diamond octahedron from this well-known area of Angola. The gem crystal has classic adamatine luster. Diamonds, in general, are rare, seldom on the market from here with colored green diamonds, even more so! Diamonds were first discoverd here in 1912. "Until 1980 the mines, generally southeast of Dundo in the alluvial till of riverbeds, annually produced nearly 10 percent of the world 's total output of gem-quality diamonds (MINDAT)."
