A glorious, gem, water-clear, 5.0 cm, sharply terminated smoky quartz crystal with rich color is aesthetically set on matrix on this exceptional old-timer from the famous St Gotthard Massif. The limpid, very glassy and lustrous 360-degree crystal has striking preferential water-clear, glass-clear faces, fabulous frosted stepped-growth faces and lightly frosted faces! Complete all-around and essentially pristine, with only a few trivial termination edge wilbers. From an East Coast collection and comes with a faded century-old label. Classic and outstanding old Swiss smoky quartz. Valued at $1250-1500 for quality and age.
