Item Description

A spectacular, important and rare large smoky quartz combination from Brazil. A stunning, trident cluster of lustrous smoky quartz crystals with attendent smaller crystals is dramatically set on the large matrix of starkly contrasting large pearlescent, faint blue cleavelandite blades. The surreal large crystal is 10.3 cm tall and most of the water-clear upper section is filled with stunning sprays of schorl needles. Strikingly, one of the prism faces is opaque, while another is mostly opaque, but has a shocking water-clear window! The base of the large smoky and nearly all of the smaller crystals are fully included with schorl (black tourmaline). Complete all-around and very nearly pristine, with only a tiny bruise at the tip of the large crystal and a gently bruised tip to the third largest smoky. This remains a superlative and RARE large schorl-included smoky quartz combination from the Richard Hauck Collection. Valued at $3500-4000 for size, unique form and quality.
