Item Description

Striking blue-green theisite botryoids are richly and attractively clustered on the contrasting carpet of tiny, scintillating, gemmy azurite crystals on this impressive and colorful large combination specimen from a New Find. Theisite is a rare complex hydroxyl Cu-Zn arsenate, visually similar to tyrolite. It is named after our fellow Mineralogical Association of Dallas (MAD) member, Nick Theis. The back is richly covered with turquoise-blue crusts of Claraite, a RARE very complex hydrated Cu-Zn-As carbonate. This rich, RARE and colorful large specimen is from a New Find at this ancient and closed in the 1960s, barite, Cu-Pb-Zn-Ag mine. valued $500-750
