Ray Mine coppers are an Arizona classic. This sculptural and colorful flattened small cabinet is composed of diverging sharp spinel-twinned crystals richly enveloped with tiny sharp tetrahexahedral crystals and enhanced with green malachite and a matrix fragment. The lustrous buttery copper patina adds pizzazz to this artistic piece from the Kay Robertson Collection # 9081 and acquired in September, 1980. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
