Item Description

A 2.2 cm cluster of gem, light blue fluorite cubes, to 1.4 cm, is aesthetically set in a curved vug lined with sparkly calcite microcrystals in the dense dolomite matrix on this showy and excellent combination from the rock dump from the hydroelectric station canal at Niagara Falls (MINDAT). It has been a popular collecting area for many years. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 642 and acquired in the early 1950s from the Bradleys. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). Classic Niagara Falls fluorite with purple fluorescence.
