Item Description

When these specimens first started emerging from Pakistan, they were (and still are) regarded as some of the finest crystallized Spessartine specimens in the world. They are for my money, some of the finest red Spessartines available today. This is a pretty thumbnails which hosts a few sharp, lustrous, gemmy, orange-red color trapezohedral crystals which are sitting on a blocky cream colored crystals of Microcline with gemmy colorless Quartz prisms. The largest Spessartine measures 6 mm across. These specimens are becoming less and less available on the market, certainly in the last 5 years. Considering how widespread and diverse the various species of Garnet are, it is surprisingly difficult to find good crystallized display specimens on matrix. Garnets as a whole are not very common to find in fine quality crystals.
