Item Description

A classic display specimen of the famous and highly sought after "jackstraw" Elpidites from Mont Saint-Hilaire. This piece shows a soft bluish tinge comprising silky prismatic crystals of this hydrated Sodium Zirconium Silicate. The most important aspect to me is the the sheer SIZE of the crystals!! Typcially, Eplidites don't measure more than a few cm, but this piece is nearly 9 cm long, and there are actual terminated faces, which is rare in my experience with the material. You don't see Elpidites like this very often, and since Mont Saint-Hilaire is the premier locality for the species, we have a superb quality specimen from the best locale for Elpidite extant!
