Item Description

A classic display specimen of very attractive, lustrous, sharp, well-formed crystals of Galena crystals measuring up to 1.0 cm with Dolomite covering all sides the piece. The piece is nearly a "floater", as it is crystallized on nearly every side, but it does show a contact where it was removed from the pocket wall. The color in some of the Galena crystals is a rich silvery-grey "gun metal" hue with a lovely external patina. Some of the crystals almost appear to have a "Spinel-twin" habit, but they may be compressed dodecahedra. Hard to photograph, but good in person and really attractive for the material. I'm told that this is from a fairly new find (within the last few years), and is not older material.
