Item Description

The Braen's Quarry in New Jersey has been a seldom collected quarry, but has from time to time been a source of excellent mineral specimens. Gypsum is known from the quarry, but rarely seen in good specimens. This piece is an attractive piece of VERY gemmy Gypsum (var: Selenite) with a somewhat pearly appearance. The crystal is fairly thick and although it's cleaved in spots, there are some areas of crystallized along with a bit of associated Calcite and attached matrix for a nice touch.
