Carrollite on Calcite

When these world class Carrollite specimens were first found over 10 years ago, they were instantly regarded as the best of species ever found. Some of the largest, sharpest, most impressive crystals of this rare copper, cobalt, nickel sulfide came out of this find. This particular features hosts a fine, sharp, well-formed, very lustrous / splendent, bright silvery color, modified striated cuboctahedron measuring 2.2 cm on rhombic Calcite matrix. Crystals of Carrollite on matrix are less common, and the quality of this one is certainly better than a lot we've offered in the auctions. The crystal is damage free on the top side, but the bottom has a partial growth where it grew against the Calcite. These pieces seemed to have dried up quickly, and I don't know if more will be found. A great opportunity to snag to nice matrix specimen of Carrollite for a great price. Valued at $900.
