Item Description

These specimens certainly have been few and far between. I personally have only seen a handful of them over the last few years. This specimen features a sharp, well-formed, somewhat compressed, prismatic, hexagonal translucent Quartz crystal with a ring of soft green spherical Prehnite along the bottom edge. There is a smooth space on the base of the Quartz, where it feels like it may have formed a "cast" after a preexisting mineral like Anhydrite that dissolved away. It is not terribly common to find Prehnite with Quartz in this way from this locality, but it's attractive to be sure. This locality seems to be producing less material than a few years ago, and this piece would certainly make a very esoteric addition to any Chinese suite.
