Item Description

An unusual Quartz and Calcite association specimen simply labeled as coming from "Brazil". I'm not entirely sure where in Brazil the piece could have been found, so we'll simply have to go off the label on this one. A beautiful GEM QUALITY colorless 1.2 cm Quartz crystal can be seen on the side of the piece along with little white Calcites and what I believe could be compressed greenish-golden Siderite. Perhaps the piece is from Morro Velho. Nonetheless, it's an interesting and unusual piece that would make a nice addition to your collection. This piece comes from the collection of Willard W. Wulff (1904-1998) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a prominent figure and collector of Colorado minerals. Wulff was one of the founding members of the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society in 1936. You can read Willard's bio on the Mineralogical Record website here ( http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1528 ). The piece comes with one of the famous 3x5 index cards that states the specimen was acquired from Ralph S. Mueller & Son.
